Congrats to Bobcats; New writer needed; Kudos to Indians; More nominees

Congrats to Bobcats

I WOULD like to congratulate the Delta girls basketball team on a tremendous season. You should be proud of your accomplishments. You set a school record for an undefeated regular season. I have enjoyed watching your games and will miss those four seniors. Hold your heads high and walk proud.

New writer needed

I WAS at the Show Me Center for the Southeast Missouri State women's basketball celebration. It was a first-class event. But I would love to know who wrote athletic director Don Kaverman's speech for him. Was it one of president Ken Dobbins' speech writers? When he said it was under his recommendation that Southeast held off until after the OVC tournament before announcing the hiring of John Ishee, every knowledgeable fan knew that was a big crock. Congratulations to the Southeast ladies. Let's go out and win a few more ballgames.

Kudos to Indians

THE JACKSON Indians basketball teams worked hard all season and it paid off. You should be proud of yourselves and your coaches. Just because you don't have your pictures published and articles written about you doesn't mean you aren't recognized for winning the district championships.

More nominees

FOR YOUR information: Delta seniors Kaci Menz and Shea Smith also have been nominated for the McDonald's All-America team. The Southeast Missourian and other media outlets only reported one player that was nominated.

(We regret the oversight. The Southeast Missourian received information previously regarding Notre Dame's Kristain Burger's nomination.)
