Southeast Missouri State sophomore second baseman Trevor Ezell was named a Third Team Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America this past week.
Ezell, the former Arkansas high school Player of the Year, has a cumulative 3.92 grade-point average at Southeast.
On the field, Ezell broke the school record for runs scored in a season with 70, which led the Ohio Valley Conference. He also batted .326 in 242 plate appearances, which tied for the most this season on the team with senior Branden Boggetto. Ezell also drew 53 walks, second on the team, and finished with a .458 on-base percentage, also second on the team. He also had five home runs and 31 RBIs for the Redhawks, who won their third consecutive OVC regular-season title and first OVC tournament crown since 2002.
