For Scott City, there will be a lot more to play for than a mere win tonight. Mourning the death of classmate and friend, Jessica Arnzen, the 3-0 Rams will be full of emotion when they play host to Brentwood (1-1). "We'll be fired up and will play with a lot of emotion and there will be a lot of energy," said Scott City coach Stephen O'Brien. "Emotionally, this has affected everybody up to the coaching staff.

It's been tough on our mental preparation."

The Rams missed two practices this week as students were sent into shock after Arnzen was fatally injured in an automobile accident. Arnzen was a volleyball player, a softball player, a cheerleader and was known by all at the school.

"We still have a game to play and we want to win one for a little more reason tonight," O'Brien said. "They're going to want to win one for her."

Brentwood is 1-2 after forfeiting its first game to North Calloway, losing big to St. Vincent, then handily beating Westminster Christian, which is in its first year as a varsity program.

Marcus Klund, one of Scott City's starting running backs, re-injured an ankle in last week's 7-6 win over East Prairie, but will play tonight.

Fredericktown at Potosi

The Blackcats are looking to rebound after a 41-8 loss last week.

Potosi is 1-2, beating Sullivan and losing to Farmington and De Soto.

Fredericktown (2-1) defeated Potosi 41-20 last year.

"They're averaging about 30 points per game scoring-wise," said Fredericktown coach Kent Gibbs. "Their offense is definitely stronger than their defense. We can't let them outside. We don't have anyone who can catch them."

St. Vincent's subs should be ready. This one could be ugly.

Grandview, a perennial door mat, will be going up against Class 1A's second-ranked team.

The Indians are 3-0, while Grandview is 1-2. Grandview fell to Chaffee 40-14 in the first week, defeated Aquinas Mercy 30-0 and fell to Lutheran-St.Charles 28-7 last week.

Things don't get much easier for Perryville.
