Jackson's eighth grade cross country teams turned in strong performances at the Jackson Junior High Invitational Monday.

The eighth grade girls team took second overall and the eighth grade boys third.

The top finish by the Jackson harriers was Brock Williams' fourth-place performance. He clocked in with a 9:34 time. Daniel Bono was ninth, at 10)06, while Kyle Rhodes was 12th (10:26).

The girls, meanwhile enjoyed an extremely balanced effort. Chelsea Walker took sixth place (11:09), followed by Beth Tate (8th, 11:40), Kelsey Shearon (9th, 11:41), Chelsea Brown (12th, 12:14), Katie Jenkins (14th, 13:47) and Lauren Jackson (15th, 14:11).
