CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. — The East Prairie softball team sent a clear message to their competition with a 24-4 win in four innings at Caruthersville.
The Lady Eagles (13-6) seemed to be playing on another level and left the Lady Tigers (1-15) starching their heads and wondering what hit them.
“Overall, it was another great showing for us,” said East Prairie coach Jade Marcum. “The bats came alive and never stopped. The defense was solid and everything is just as it should be heading into the last week of play. It was a group effort as our entire team was able to take the field throughout the game and get some at-bats and time on the dirt. It’s always nice when bats are hot. We can get ahead and get everyone in the game. Riley Wilson threw a great game in the drizzling rain and our defense did their part behind her.”
East Prairie’s top producers at the plate were Tori Stinnett (2-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs), Katie Brewer (2-for-2 with two triples, three RBIs and two runs), Sydney Adcock (2-for-2 with two RBIs and one run), Sophia Jordan (2-for-2 wth two RBIs and two runs) and Riley Wilson (2-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs).
Kennedy Cogdill, Alison Miller and Chloe Jackson each had a double and Kylee Gilliam, Addi Aters and Ella Dunn each had a single.
Miller (2), Wilson (2), Dunn (2), Jackson, Cogdill and Aters were responsible for RBIs.
