The Doniphan Donettes grabbed three victories Saturday in their home invitational as they also grabbed first place with wins over North County and Fox in pool play then Notre Dame in the final.
Doniphan cruised against the North County Raiders as the Donettes had 15 runs on 13 hits and scored in all but one inning in the 15-2 drumming.
Carsyn Hagood (3-3, 2 RBIs, 3 runs) and Kiernyn Bond (3-3, 2B, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) each had three hits while Kenna Kirby and Kylie Hawkins each finished with two hits.
Kirby delivered two more hits in the 8-4 win over Fox as the Donettes plated four runs in the third inning to give them a lead they wouldn’t give away.
In the final against Notre Dame, Kirby added three more hits as she finished with seven in Doniphan’s three victories.
The Donettes cruised to the 9-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs as Micah Burton, Dalila Watson and Bond all had doubles and RBIs for Doniphan. Burton added a home run earlier in the day against North County.
Kenzee Davis grabbed two wins in the circle while Hawkins had the other for Doniphan.
Brad Hagood’s squad is now 9-9 on the year as the district tournament is only a couple of weeks away.
The Donettes host East Carter today in Doniphan. Van Buren comes to town on Thursday as Doniphan’s final few games put the Donettes at Sikeston (Sept. 29), the Windsor Showcase (Sept. 30), at Naylor (Oct. 3) and the Van Buren Lady Dawg Invitational (Oct. 7).
