Dixon cards 69 to claim first in Gateway Jr. event

Brady Dixon shot a 69 to win the boys ages 16 to 19 tour division Monday at the Gateway Junior Series golf event at Kimbeland Country Club.

Dixon finished one shot ahead of Hunter Pyland and four shots in front of third-place finisher Gunnar Knudtson.

Nick Cantoni claimed first in the boys 14 to 15 tour division with an 81.

Boys winners in the 18-hole regular divisions were Kobe Beasley (12 to 13, 81), Adam Way (14 to 15, 79) and Austin Cooper (16 to 19, 83).

Connor McKinney won the girls 18-hole regular in the ages 16 to 19 division with an 86, edging Morgan Schumer by one stroke.

Nine-hole winners were Jonathan Bell (boys 10 to 11, 43), Karsten Short (boys 12 to 13, 43), John Burcham (boys 14 to 15, 44), Sarah Bell (girls 12 to 13, 43) and Adele Soutar (girls 14 to 15, 43).
