The Dexter Bearcat tennis team opened its season with a 6-3 win over Poplar Bluff.
Dexter's doubles team of Logan Jones and Rhyder Williams earned the Bearcats' first point of the season defeating Matthew Penn and Isaac Cato 8-4.
Dexter's top seeded singles player Peyton Boles rallied from an 0-5 deficit to defeat Angelo Sorrentino 9-7.

Dexter was scheduled to host its Courts for Cancer event this afternoon (Friday) but the event has been postponed due to rain. A make up date will be announced at a later date.
Advance 7 Greenville 4
The Advance Lady Hornets softball team improved to 2-0 on the season after defeating Greenville 7-4. Advance's Addison Carlton pitched a complete game giving up four earned runs and recording 12 strikeouts.
Kaylee Cline went 3 for 3 at the plate driving in a run and scoring two runs. Maggie Stubenrauch and Ava Bowling each drove in two runs for Advance while Lily McLeary and Harley Daniels each drove in a run.
Advance is next scheduled to be in action Saturday at the Puxico Softball Tournament.
