FARMINGTON — The Dexter Bearcats golf team dominated the Class 3 District 1 tournament at Crown Point Golf Club on Thursday.

The Bearcats’ defeated 13 teams and set a new school record (305) to become district champions. Potosi shot 326 to take second, while St. James took third with a score of 344.

Banks Nesselrodt shot 1-under 71 to defeat 73 players and become district champ. Jackson Marcee from St. James finished two shots back with a 73 to finish in second place.

All five Bearcat players finished in the top 10 and received all-district medals.

Tucker Temples shot 76 to finish third, while Ben Christian shot a round of 78 to tie for fourth. Will Guethle tied for seventh place with a personal best score of 80 and Alyssa Warren tied for 10th place with a personal-best score of 84.

The Bearcats will compete again May 13-14 in the 83rd Missouri state championship to be held at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.
