Devils eliminate Rangers

Patrik Elias scored two goals and assisted on Scott Gomez's power-play goal early in the second period -- that wiped out the New York Rangers' only lead of the series -- as the Devils completed a four-game sweep in the first-round series with a 4-2 win Saturday in New York.

The Rangers scored only four times in the four games, while allowing 17 goals.

New Jersey stretched its winning streak to 15 games.

Martin Brodeur made 31 saves and broke Patrick Roy's league record by playing his 137th straight playoff game.

Senators win series

Martin Havlat helped Ottawa finish off defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay in five games with a 3-2 win at home.

Oilers take series lead

Dwayne Roloson made 30 saves, and Edmonton held off Detroit 3-2 at Detroit to take a 3-2 lead in the series.
