Delta's girls basketball team survived another narrow victory over visiting Scott County Central 53-51 on Thursday to finish the regular season undefeated.

The Bobcats improved to 24-0 heading into Saturday's district game against Eminence. This was the second game between the two teams to come down to the wire this season, as Delta edged Scott County 35-34 in the finals of the Scott-Mississippi Conference tournament.

Delta and Scott County have met in the sectional round the past three seasons, with the Bobcats coming out on top twice.

"We're not looking at that," Delta coach Randy White said. "That's down the road. We're looking at the next one."

Jodi Menz had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats, including a key basket late. Ashley Deprow led Delta with 15 points and Kaci Menz added 11 points.

Brittney Peet led the Bravettes with 20 points and Samantha Jones had 16.

Jackson knocked off rival Central 56-37 to advance to the Class 5 District 1 championship at Fox High School.

The top-seeeded Indians will face No.2 Seckman in the championship at 6 p.m. today. Seckman beat No. 3 Poplar Bluff 52-43 in the other semifinal.

Kelci Keith led Jackson (17-8) with 10 points.

Wendi Zickfield led Central with 14 points and Sadie Pittman added 13.
