The much-anticipated meeting between Bell City and Scott County Central will take place sooner than later, as wins from No. 2 Bell City and No. 3 Scott County Central on Monday at the Oran Invitational set up a semifinal matchup between the two teams.
Bell City routed No. 7 Twin Rivers 74-34, and No. 3 Scott County rallied for a 73-67 win over No. 6 Oran. The teams will meet at 8 p.m. on Thursday in the semifinals.
Top-seeded Malden cruised by the Advance junior varsity 92-20 in Monday's other quarterfinal. Alonzo Louis led the Green Wave with 14 points, as five Malden scorers reached double digits. Luke Steil led the Hornets with six points.
Nick Niemczyk led Bell City (2-1) with 21 points in the Cubs' win. Melvin Johnson added 15 points, Phillip Gross had 11 and Austin Bush added 10.
Caleb Johnson led the Braves with 24 points, D.D. Gillespie added 23 and Toby Heeb had 14. Scott County trailed 51-48 after three quarters, but outscored Oran 25-16 in the final period.
Robert Lange led the Eagles with 20 points, Hunter Glastetter had 19 and Kody Campbell added 15. Oran was undone at the free throw line, where the Eagles hit just three of 13. Scott County Central made 22 of 32 free throws.
Kelly and Advance will meet at 6 p.m. tonight in the final quarterfinal.

Notre Dame had six players score in double figures and cruised in its season opener 107-56 over Zalma at the Woodland Invitational.
The top-seeded Bulldogs, the defending champions, were led by Ryan Willen's 24 points. Ty Williams had 20 points, John Unterreiner added 17, Abe Dirnberger and Ivan Thomas had 11 and Mark Himmelberg had 10.
Justin Lemons led Zalma with 16 points, Colton Bailey and Travis Mergel had 11 apiece and Timmy Rodgers had 10.
Perryville, the second seed, cruised by No. 7 Oak Ridge 68-37.
Fifth-seeded Leopold knocked off fourth-seeded Delta in overtime 54-50. Leopold was led by Eric Fluchel with 24 points. Darren VanGennip added 10 points for the Wildcats.
Nate Stroder led Delta with 16 points, Dustin Anglin had 14 and Tyler Martin had 12.
Meadow Heights will face host Woodland at 6 p.m. tonight in the final quarterfinal. Notre Dame will face Leopold at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in a semifinal.

Fourth-seeded Jackson knocked off No. 5 Dexter 56-43 on Monday in its opener at the Farmington Invitational.

In other quarterfinal action, No. 3 Farmington edged No. 6 Notre Dame 65-59.
