The Saxony Lutheran boys basketball team defeated Jefferson 62-53 in the Rolla "Duke" Herbert Classic in Crystal City, Mo.
The Crusaders trailed Jefferson 22-8 after the first quarter before a big turnaround in the second quarter allow them to take a 32-28 lead into halftime.
"I don't know," Saxony coach Tim Winkler said when asked about what changed, although he later pointed out a switch to zone defense and slowing down on offense. "I wish I knew if it was something I said."
Hunter Coe led Saxony with 18 points and six assists, and Zach Beal had a team-high five rebounds to go along with five points.
The Crusaders (2-0) will continue tournament play Wednesday.
