POPLAR BLUFF -- Early in the third quarter Wednesday night, Scott County Central's girls basketball team looked like it was certainly headed for a spot in the state quarterfinals.

But Couch had other ideas. The Lady Indians staged a furious rally and stunned the Bravettes 65-60 in a Class 1A Sectional game at Poplar Bluff High School.

Couch thus moves on to Saturday's quarterfinals in Cabool. The Lady Indians are 18-8.

Scott Central finished its season with a 15-10 record.

The Bravettes led 36-22 at halftime and pushed the advantage to 19 points early in the third quarter. Scott Central still led 49-35 entering the final period.

Couch then outscored Scott Central 30-11 in the last quarter to prevail.

Katie Griffin paced the Bravettes with 26 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Brandy Miller added 15 points.

Couch got 20 points from Bethany Combs and 16 from Krystal Bennett.
