Southeast Missourian
Central High School golfer Jack Connell notched a tournament victory Wednesday in the Gateway PGA/Southeast Missouri junior golf event at Hidden Trails Country Club in Dexter, Mo.
Connell topped the 14- and 15-year-old boys tour division with an 84, two shots better than Eric Redfearn.
Josh Wheeler won the 16- to 19-year-old boys tour division with a 72, while Lindsey Riffle led the girls division with an 84.
Other winners were: Jesse Hency, 10 and 11 boys; Evan Deere, 12 and 13 boys for nine holes; Trent Hillis, 12 and 13 boys for 18 holes; Zack Stricker, 14 and 15 boys; and Dustin Gray, 16 to 19 boys regular division.
The event attracted 42 players.
