Clint Ruppel of Oak Ridge recently fired his fourth career hole-in-one at Kimbeland Country Club.
Ruppel used a 6-iron to ace No. 6, a par 3 playing 162 yards. Witnesses were Bob Hedden, Bob Templeton and Harold Schott.
Vickie Long won the Women's Golf Association's weekly event last week at Cape Girardeau Country Club.
The play of the day was "blind throw out." Kathy Raines finished second, and Irene Thomas was third in the 18-hole competition.
Shirley Moore won the nine-hole place, with Marcia Wagner the runner-up.
Randy Senciboy and Lachelle Cook won the 14-team competition at the recent SEMO Horseshoe Association event at the Jackson Knights of Columbus.
Travis Braswell and Carolyn Schreckenberg placed second, while Bob Burnett and Jenn Vandeven finished third.
Upcoming events are Saturday at Schindler's Tavern in New Hamburg and Sunday at the Oran Knights of Columbus.
Jeff DeWitt carded a 66 to take first place in a Point Series event Saturday at Dalhousie Golf Club.
Rob Erlbacher shot a 68 to finish second, followed by Lewis Bock (70) in third, Jim Rust (72) in fourth and Charlie Puls (73) in fifth.
Tryouts for the Lids Missouri Bulls' 2016 season is scheduled to take place Saturday at Notre Dame Regional High School.
There will be three groups for the two-hour tryouts, beginning with 10-and-under, 11-and-under and 12-and-under at 8:30 a.m. Check-in for 13-and-under, 14-and-under and 15-and-under tryouts will begin at 10:30 a.m., with tryouts scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Check-in for the 16-and-under, 17-and-under and 18-and-under tryouts will begin at 2 p.m., with tryouts slated to start at 2:30 p.m.
The Bulls will conduct additional tryouts for anyone unable to attend. Details will be available later on the team's website.
