A pair of Notre Dame Regional High School graduates helped the Quincy University men's soccer team reach the Division II tournament.
Seniors Jack Wedemeier and Abe Dirnberger both earned all-conference honors for helping the Hawks compile a 11-7-2 record. The Hawks lost 2-1 in overtime in their NCAA tournament opener.
Wedemeier scored nine goals and assisted on six others to earn a spot on the Great Lakes Valley All-Conference first team. He was named to the third team last season.
Dirnberger was named to the third team. The defender started all 20 games for the Hawks this season.
Notre Dame Regional High School graduate Ryan Willen ranks second in scoring on the Lafayette College men's basketball team.
Willen, who helped lead the Bulldogs to the Class 4 state title in 2008, is averaging 14.6 points per game for the Leopards.
The 6-foot-8 junior biology major also ranks second in rebounding with 4.4 boards per game. He has started all five games for the 1-4 Leopards.
Jackson High School graduate Beth Barton was named an NAIA women's cross country scholar-athlete this season.
Barton, a junior at Culver-Stockton, was the team's second-best finisher at the Heart of America Athletic Conference meet.
Barton is majoring in athletic training.
Jackson High School graduate Morgan Johnson shared the place-kicking duties for the College of the Redwoods football team in Eureka, Calif.
Johnson, a freshman, converted 7 of 11 extra-point tries and 2 of 6 field-goal attempts. His season long was 32 yards.
Notre Dame Regional High School graduate Jane Morrill averaged 21.2 minutes per game through the Arkansas State women's basketball team's first five games.
Morrill, who helped the Bulldogs reach the Class 4 state title game last season, is averaging 8.2 points, third best on the team.
The 6-1 true freshman is shooting .536 from the field and has grabbed 3.4 rebounds per game.
Notre Dame Regional High School graduate Ashley Nenninger recorded her 1,000th career kill for the Murray State volleyball team during the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.
Nenninger, a senior, finished the Racers' two matches at the tournament with 33 kills to finish with 1,020 in her career.
The Racers lost to Morehead State 3-1 in the semifinal round. Central graduate Wendi Zickfield, a redshirt freshman, smacked one kill in the loss. She finished the season with 73 kills and 33 total blocks.
Jackson High School graduate Spencer Goodman has started all four games for the University of North Dakota men's basketball team.
The 6-5 forward is averaging 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per games. He's shooting 82 percent (9 of 11) from the free-throw line for the 2-2 Fighting Sioux.
Goodman hasn't decided on a major yet.
