An MRI on Missouri wide receiver Sean Coffey's dislocated left shoulder revealed no structural damage, the athletic department said late Tuesday night.
There is no timetable for Coffey's return, though Missouri spokesman Chad Moller said it is doubtful Coffey will play in Saturday's game against New Mexico.
"Sean will rehab as soon as possible," Moller said. "We're treating it as good news in a bad situation."
Coffey, 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, was injured in the second quarter of Missouri's 44-17 win over Arkansas State on Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium. After making a 36-yard catch, Coffey was injured after he was hit on the elbow by a defender's helmet and fumbled.
Coffey had four receptions for 82 yards Saturday.
If Coffey is unable to play, Brad Ekwerekwu will replace him, Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said Monday.
"I feel all right; it's a little sore," Coffey said Monday. "Things happen. I just have to deal with it and face whatever I have to face to get it back together."
Missouri linebacker Marcus Bacon has been suspended indefinitely following his weekend arrest for driving while intoxicated.
Missouri officials cited only disciplinary reasons for the suspension. Bacon, a 6-2, 220-pound junior, was the Tigers' leading tackler with eight tackles and 1.5 sacks in Saturday's season-opening 44-17 win over Arkansas State in Kansas City.
Moller said there was no timetable for Bacon's return.
