Coaches release all-state basketball picks

Several players from Southeast Missouri were selected to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association all-state basketball teams, which were released Wednesday.

Oak Ridge senior Ryan Below was picked as the Class 1 boys player of the year after averaging 23.5 points, 14.3 rebounds and 5.2 steals a game during his senior year for the Blue Jays.

Scott County Central senior LaRandis Banks and sophomore Jeffery Porter also were named to the Class 1 team after being a part of the Braves' state-title team this season. Leopold senior point guard Cameron Davis also made the Class 1 team.

Advance senior Lane Below, who lead the Hornets to the state quarterfinals, was named all-state in Class 2. Below averaged 27.3 points and 5.2 assists.

Jackson senior Karson King made the Class 5 team after helping the Indians reach the quarterfinals for a second year in a row.

Scott County Central senior Mikaela Blissett was named to the Class 1 all-state girls team and Saxony Lutheran sophomore Brianna Mueller was named all-state in Class 3 after helping the Crusaders reach the final four for the first time.
