Garret Reynolds scored a game-high 38 points, including five 3-pointers, as the seventh-seeded Woodland fell short in their attempt to pull off yet another tournament upset this season, this time against second-seeded West County.

The Cardinals lost 75-70 in the opening round of the Class 3 District 2 tournament hosted by Clearwater High School in Piedmont, Mo.

Devon Gramlisch added 14 points for Woodland, which ended its season at 11-13.

For the Bulldogs (18-6), Parker Forshee sank a team-high 19 points and Clayton Brinkley chipped in 18 points.

Jack Lake poured in a game-high 30 points and snagged 15 rebounds to lead the fifth-seeded Crusaders.

Saxony Lutheran took a lead into the final quarter but couldn't advance to the semifinals in a loss to the fourth-seeded Lancers.

Ryan Palmer recorded 12 points and four assists and Chase Steffens added 10 points for Saxony Lutheran. The Crusaders completed the season with a record of 16-10.

For St. Pius X (13-9), Luke Bandy netted a team-high 26 points while Isaiah Hennessey chipped in 18 points and Tryson Thornton had 11 points.

Jordan Kluesner had eight points as the eighth-seeded Rams' season came to an end in a loss to top-seeded Clearwater.

Scott City finished the season with a record of 8-16.

Dayvon Slack posted a game-high 18 points and Austin Ayers added 17 points for Clearwater (19-3).

Brianna Mueller reigned in 18 points as the top-seeded Crusaders rode to an easy victory over No. 8 Scott City for the third time this season.

Grace Mirly added 17 points for Saxony Lutheran (20-4). The Crusaders will face fourth-seeded St. Pius X (Festus) in a semifinal tomorrow at 6 p.m.

Lyndsie Robert had eight points and seven rebounds for Scott City as the Rams wrapped up the season with a record of 1-21.
