Amanda Hiler scored a hat trick Friday in leading the Cape Girardeau Central High girls soccer team to a big 3-2 win over visiting St. Charles West.
The Lady Tigers, who have been beaten just twice in two years -- both times by the eventual state champs -- improved to 3-0 on the season.
Central led 2-0 at halftime after what Lady Tigers coach Tom Doyle said "was the best half we've played this year."
Hiler scored the first goal at the four-minute mark off an assist by Kim Aslinger.
Erica McDonald provided an assist for Hiler's second goal which came 18 minutes into the first half.
In the second half, St. Charles West, which went 27-2 last season, quickly cut the lead to 2-1.
At the 69-minute mark Hiler scored an unassisted goal from 25 yards out for some insurance.
St. Charles West (3-1) added another goal about 30 seconds later to cut the lead to 3-2.
Central will host Jackson Tuesday.
