CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Jordy Mixon rushed for 235 yards and two touchdowns as Charleston trounced Caruthersville 32-0 Friday night in SEMO Conference Central Division action.

Mixon, who had 18 carries and scored on runs of 37 and 86 yards, led a Bluejay rushing attack that totaled 471 yards on 52 attempts.

Charleston's Orrice Stanback also topped the 100-yard mark as he carried 16 times for 162 yards, including a 27-yard third-quarter touchdown run.

After a scoreless first quarter, Mixon scored from 37 yards out. Dontay Clark added a 5-yard touchdown run for a 12-0 halftime lead for Charleston (2-1, 2-0). Stanback's scoring run and Mixon's 86-yard jaunt upped the lead to 25-0 by the close of the third quarter. Paul Brown finished the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Caruthersville (0-3, 0-2) had all its offense come on the ground as it rushed for 122 yards.

MEADOW HEIGHTS 15-15

OAK RIDGE 9-5

OAK RIDGE, Mo. -- Meadow Heights improved to 10-1 by sweeping Oak Ridge.

Ashley Brune led the Lady Panthers with five kills while Tessa Bollinger added four. Hannah James had three kills and two service aces.

Oak Ridge (1-7) got five kills from Laura Glueck.

Meadow Heights also won the JV match 15-7, 15-6.

EAGLE RIDGE 15-8-9

Southern Missouri Christian of Poplar Bluff dropped Eagle Ridge Christian of Cape Girardeau to 2-3 with a three-game victory.

Amber Karnes of Eagle Ridge had seven kills, three blocks and seven service points. Cara Ervin served eight points and Rachel Carbaugh added six points.

Eagle Ridge's JV opened its season with a 15-13, 10-15, 15-0 victory.
