Charleston has won the past two Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament titles, and they're the favorites to do it again this month.
Charleston, No. 1 in the Class 3 state poll, was voted the top seed for the boys basketball event that begins Dec. 26 and ends Dec. 30. All games are at the Show Me Center.
Central grabbed the second seed with Scott City third and Jackson fourth. Behind them are, in order, Bell City, Advance, Scott County Central, Notre Dame, Delta, Kelly, Woodland, Meadow Heights, Leopold, Oran, Oak Ridge and Chaffee.
Charleston and Chaffee will meet at 9 a.m. Other first-round games feature Central vs. Oak Ridge at 10:30, Scott City vs.Oran at noon, Jackson vs. Leopold at 1:30 p.m., Bell City vs.Meadow Heights at 4:30, Advance vs.Woodland at 6, Scott County Central vs. Kelly at 7:30 and NotreDame vs. Delta at 9.
Charleston won last year's event 66-52 over Notre Dame.
Quarterfinal games will begin at 9 a.m. Dec. 27, and after a break Dec. 28, events resume at noon Dec. 29 with semifinal games in the consolation, fifth-place and first-place brackets.
Finals are scheduled for 3, 4:30, 6 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 30.
