Chaffee's softball team followed a tight win over district opponent Naylor with a comfortable 10-3 win Tuesday on the road at Egyptian High School in Illinois.

Whitney Horrell allowed six hits in seven innings to improve to 2-0. She struck out five and walked two.

Offensively, Sarah Dooley and Rachel Hendrix had two hits apiece for the Red Devils (5-1). Hendrix, Veronica Bennett, Suzanne Reischman and Courtney Walter had RBIs.Chaffee 10, Egyptian 3

Poplar Bluff 5, Jackson 2

Poplar Bluff took advantage of some Jackson wildness to beat the Indians.

Jackson starter Amanda Pitts walked six in two-plus innings, including two runners with the bases loaded. Two other Poplar Bluff runs scored on wild pitches.

The Mules led 5-0 before Jackson put together three hits in the sixth to score two runs. Trisha Kluesner and Jessica Pitts each had an RBI. Chelsea McDowell had two hits for Jackson.
