CHAFFEE -- -- Chaffee High School will be holding eight-team softball and baseball tournaments starting today and running through Saturday.

Teams included in the double-elimination baseball tournament will be Oran, Perryville, New Madrid, Chaffee, Dexter, Senath, Shawnee (Ill.) and Scott City.

The softball tournament will include Delta, Chaffee, East Prairie, Charleston, Oran, Advance, Scott City and Dexter.

The baseball tournament will begin at 3:30 today when Oran takes on Perryville at Chaffee. The baseball games will be played at two sites most will take place at Harmon Field in Chaffee and others will be played at Scott City.

Scott City will play host to Shawnee at 4:15 today while the rest of the first-round games will be played at Chaffee. The first round of the losers' bracket will be played at Scott City also.

Chaffee will take on New Madrid at 5:45 today. Dexter and Senath will round out the first-round games with a scheduled 8 p.m. first pitch.

Second-round games begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with the championship game slated for 6:45 p.m.

In the softball tournament, Delta will take on Chaffee and East Prairie will battle Charleston at 4 p.m. Following those games, Oran will take on Advance and Scott City will face Dexter.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, the second round games will begin with the championship game slated for 3 p.m.
