CHAFFEE -- Chaffee, Dexter and New Madrid County Central each claimed wins in the first round of the eight-team Chaffee baseball tournament Friday.
Chaffee outslugged Perryville 12-11 to improve to 6-1 on the season. G.P. Glueck picked up the win in 3 1-3 innings of relief.
He allowed three runs, walked seven and struck out two.
Tommy Stidham -- who went 2-for-4 with four runs scored and four stolen bases -- earned the save in the seventh inning. Garrett Senciboy was 2-for-5 wit three runs batted in.
T.J. Abernathy tossed a no-hitter as Dexter pounded Oran 16-0.
New Madrid County Central edged Scott City 9-7.
The result of the Senath-Shawnee, Ill. game was not available at press time.
Poplar Bluff 7, Jackson 4
POPLAR BLUFF -- Jackson's Tory Meyr went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs batted in in a losing effort.
Jackson (4-6, 0-4 SEMO Conference) led 4-2 going into the bottom of the sixth, but the Mules scored five runs, three of which came on a two-out bases-loaded triple.
Chris Kohm went 5 2/3 innings for the loss. He allowed seven runs (five earned) on five hits and four walks.
Poplar Bluff's junior varsity team won 9-7.

Cape Central 3, Springfield (Ill.) 0
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Cape Central stayed undefeated Friday with a 3-0 win over Springfield, Ill. in the first round of The Jim Fralish Cup.
Amanda Hiler opened up the scoring at the 19-minute mark on an assist from Amber Voerg. Voerg provided another assist at the 48-minute mark when Kim Aslinger scored the first of her two goals.
Aslinger's second goal, which came at the 54-minute mark, was unassisted.
"This was probably our most complete game of the year," Central coach Tom Doyle said. "We played well from beginning to end."

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Lacie Hodo provided two goals and an assist as the Lady Indians rolled in the first round of The Jim Fralish Cup.
Dana Wright, Julie Wunderlich, McKinzey Turley and Adrienne Johnson each provided goals.
Wunderlich and Jessica Shultz each recorded assists.
Perryville 9, Farmington 0
PERRYVILLE -- Brooke Winkler scored four goals as the Lady Pirates improved to 7-2-1 on the year.
Cindy Rhyne, Amanda Schumer, Britney Weibrecht, Laura Klaus and Shannon Dreyer each scored a goal apiece.
Jenny Blevins provided three assists.

Danny Groesbeck and Jeff Haycraft each shot a 41 in leading Cape Central to a win at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.
Luke Oliver shot a 42 and kent Phillips followed with a 43 for Central on the par-35 course.
Dexter's Brett Hale led all golfers with a score of 40.
