De Soto 38, Perryville 14

The Pirates couldn't ride the momentum from last week's win to another victory, this week on the road.

Perryville fell to 1-1 and will host Ste. Genevieve next week.

Park Hills Central 13, St. Vincent 12

The Indians enjoyed a 9-6 lead at halftime, but only could muster a field goal in the second half while the Rebels (1-1) scored a touchdown.

St. Vincent fell to 1-1 with the loss.

BOYS SOCCER Notre Dame SoccerFest

John Unterreiner pounded a kick into the back of the net at the 3-minute mark, and Notre Dame (3-0) never looked back as it beat Marion, Ill., 3-1.

Nick Wren and Brock Dirnberger added goals to seal the win and push the host Bulldogs into the championship game.

Notre Dame plays Carbondale, Ill., at 7 p.m. today for the title.

In another tournament game, Central blanked Sikeston 3-0. Josh Compas scored twice and Zach Zaruba added a goal for the Tigers (1-1), while Carlos Salas earned the shutout.

Central plays Jackson today for fifth place, while Saxony Lutheran and Marion play for third place. Both games start at 5 p.m.

Eagle Ridge 2, Mississippi Valley 0

Josh Wiseman scored a goal and added an assist as the Eagles won the road game in Alton, Ill.

Ethan Grant made seven saves to earn the shutout in goal.

VOLLEYBALL Notre Dame VolleyballFest

The host Bulldogs defeated St. Vincent 25-12, 25-21 in their first-round match.

Meghan Dohogne led the way with 11 kills, while Shannon Brennan added 13 assists and four kills. Kelsey Bradshaw had 12 digs in the win.

In other first-day action, Perryville went 2-0, beating Central 27-25, 25-7 then Marshfield 25-13, 25-21. Rita Walter led the Tigers with six kills, while Angela Morton added six assists. Mallory Rhodes had four digs for Central.

Bell City defeated Marshfield 25-13, 25-21, while St. Vincent beat Bishop Dubourg 25-15, 25-23.

Woodland tournament

Leopold knocked off the host Cardinals in two games to capture the title.

Lauren Johnson had six kills, while Kelcy Sayler recorded four kills and two aces in the loss. Becky Brannon finished with 16 assists for Woodland.

In the third-place match, Zalma defeated Advance 25-27, 25-13, 25-18. Meadow Heights beat Saxony Lutheran 11-25, 25-17, 25-22 in the consolation match.
