LEOPOLD -- Playing some of its best defense of the year, Chaffee came away with a 10-point win over host Leopold Tuesday night.
Jim Cliff came off the bench to score 18 points while guard Benji Spane hit for 16 as the Red Devils improved to 3-14.
"We played good defense. That was the key to the whole game," said Chaffee coach Kent Mangels. "Benji Spane shot the ball real well for us tonight and Jim Cliff came off the bench and did a super job."
Craig Pennington added 10 points for the Devils.
Leopold, now 2-16, was led by Ambrose Peters with 14 and Andy Beussink with 12.
"We gave a good effort, but just ran out of gas," said Leopold coach Greg Hamm. "They played a tough man-to-man defense on us."
