In what may have been the first boys outdoor swimming meet in Missouri State High School Activities Association history, Central edged Notre Dame 95-77 on Monday at the Central Municipal Pool.
This is the first fall boys swimming season since MSHSAA voted to change the season from winter to fall.
"The storm stayed away and I'd say our first outdoor meet was a success for both teams," Notre Dame coach Lenny Kuper said.
Sam Gramling and Peyton Waggener each won two events for the Tigers. Gramling, a freshman, earned a state-qualifying mark in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 9.96 seconds.
Jake Meyr and Hunter Givens also won individual events for Central.
Nick Reinagel won the diving competition for the Bulldogs, and Aaron Tomaszewski and Logan Bollinger also won events.
