The Central volleyball team improved to 2-0 with a 25-21, 14-25, 25-20 win over visiting Perryville Tuesday night.
Wendi Zickfield led the Tigers' attack with 13 kills.
Taylor Kirn had 11 digs, Katie Scholl recorded 16 assists, and Carissa Wheeler and Rita Walter both had six blocks.

Freshmen -- Central won 17-25, 25-22, 26-24.

Scott City won its season opener at home.
Danyelle Pate led the Rams with nine kills. Jordan McFall had 11 assists, while Brooke Simpson had five kills and a team-high 16 digs.
Brittany LiCare added two aces and 10 digs. Kristin Yetman had five digs and 10 assists.

St. Vincent 25 25Jackson 17 16
St. Vincent swept host Jackson in the season opener for both teams.
Brooke Hayden led St. Vincent with five blocks and Courtney Besand had eight kills.
Chelsea Olsen led Jackson with 11 assists, while Jill Rushin had three kills and seven blocks. Chelsey Dale added seven digs.
JV -- Jackson won 25-17, 25-23.
Freshmen -- St. Vincent won 25-11, 26-24.
Woodland tournament
Fifth-seeded Saxony Lutheran pulled off a first-round upset by beating fourth-seeded Oak Ridge 19-25, 25-17, 25-16 as the seven-team Woodland tournament got under way.
Cassie Simpher led the Crusaders with 16 points. She also had three kills and three digs. Kara Versemann added five kills, seven blocks and four digs.
Brooke Kasten led Saxony in assists with 23 and also added two kills, while Nicole Petzoldt added nine kills and seven blocks.
In other matches, second-seeded Woodland beat No. 7 Greenville 25-13, 25-14 and No. 3 Meadow Heights knocked off No. 6 Zalma 25-19, 25-12.
For Woodland, Lauren Johnson had seven kills and Chelsea Morris added five. Jessica Santi had 14 points, including five aces, while Kyla Choate had 13 points.
Also for the Cardinals, Morgan Winchester added 11 points and six assists, while Brandi Killian had nine assists.
In Thursday's semifinals, top-seeded and defending champion Leopold plays Saxony at 6 p.m., followed by Woodland vs. Meadow Heights at 7:30.
SOFTBALL Chaffee 12, Sikeston 2
Chaffee struck for 10 runs in the first inning and rolled to a six-inning home victory.
Madeline Kiefer pitched a six-hitter, with eight strikeouts.
Hannah Bedwell and Veroncia Bennett both had three hits for Chaffee (2-2).
Kiefer and Shelby Ancell each added two hits. Bennett and Kiefer both had three RBIs.

Steffens, Courtois, Chad Bachnan, Joe Buerck and Mark Buerck all had one assist. Max Wieser recorded the shutout.
