Central's baseball team scored five runs in the fourth inning to break open a two-run game and defeated North County 8-1 on the road Monday.

Zac Hudson went 3-for-4 with a triple to lead the Tigers (13-10), and Matt Hester and Scott Brueckner each had two hits. Brueckner also added a home run.

Lance Young won his third game on the mound for Central, allowing only three hits and one earned run in five innings. Tyrone Reece and Brad LaBruyere shut out North County the final two innings.

Jackson 13, Perryville 4

Jackson allowed 11 hits but still pounded Perryville on the road.

The two teams combined for 25 hits and six errors.

Tyler Beussink earned his sixth victory for Jackson (14-2), allowing 11 hits and striking out five in five innings. Beussink was replaced in the sixth inning by Kyle Brown, who allowed no hits and no runs the final two innings.

Beussink led the Indians at the plate with three hits. Chad Minson, Brandon Gendron and Luke Crader each added two hits.

Perryville's Phillip Buerck pitched seven innings, allowing 11 earned runs and striking out five.

St. Vincent's only error of the game led to two runs in a road loss.

Alex Armbruster finished with three hits for the Indians (5-10), while Waylon Richardet added two hits. Greg Finger allowed five hits in five innings and took the loss for St. Vincent.

Despite giving up two runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Meadow Heights was able to win on the road in nine innings.

An error brought home two runs for Oak Ridge in the seventh with two outs, but Meadow Heights responded with a run on a wild pitch in the ninth.

Tyler Wagner and Bryce Wallis had two hits apiece for the Panthers (8-8).

John Long pitched two scoreless innings for the win.
