Central struggled to get going during its game at the Notre Dame Shootout girls basketball event Saturday.

The Tigers faced Nerinx Hall in the first game of the day, and fell to the Markers 68-29. Nerinx Hall led 53-15 at halftime.

Wendi Zickfield led the Tigers with 11 points before fouling out. Central went 9-of-20 (45 percent) from the free-throw line.

Jackson and Eureka locked in a tight battle, but the Indians couldn't pull out the win in the event's fourth game. The Wildcats outscored the Indians by seven points in the final quarter to earn the 45-37 victory.

Whitney McNeely led the Indians with eight points, while Kelci Keith chipped in seven.
