SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Central senior Todd Obergoenner shot an even-par 72 Monday to finish in a three-way tie for sixth on the first day of the Class 4 State Tournament at Rivercut Golf Course.

Central (306) is currently fourth overall, four strokes behind Poplar Bluff and 14 shots behind Chaminade for the overall lead. Chaminade, at 292, is one shot in front of Rockhurst. Poplar Bluff finished third with a 302.

Central's Blake Driskell carded a 74 to tie for 13th, and Ty Gramling ended with a 78 and is tied for 39th.

Kirk Lohmann and Tyson Seabaugh each shot 82.

Justin Bardgett, a junior at Chaminade, held a four-shot lead after carding a five-under-par 67.

In the Class 2 tournament, St. Vincent shot 356 and finished 50 shots behind first-round leader Mount Vernon at Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course.

Senior Jacob DeWilde shot 89 for the Indians' top score.

Justin Yoder, a sophomore from Versailles High School, is the individual leader after an even-par 70.

Tournament play concludes today with the second round.
