The Central girls track team finished first out of 16 teams at the Washington University Invitational in St. Louis on Saturday. Central edged University City 101 to 98 in the team standings. Central edged University City 101 to 98 in the team standings. Central was paced by individual wins from Maggie Limbaugh (pole vault), Jennifer Pancoast (1,600), Holly Shaffer (800) and the 3,200 relay team, which consisted of Pancoast, Shaffer, Linnea Woldtvedt and Stephanie Watts.

Central's boys finished third out of 15 teams. Mark Egbuka (shot put), Lance Altenthal (pole vault), Calen Wills (400) and the 1,600 relay team of Wills, Will Johnson, Zeno Walker and Allen Walker were winners.Central's girls results

Poplar Bluff 17, Central 10

The Central baseball team dropped an error-filled game on the road.

Poplar Bluff (1-2) jumped to a 7-2 lead after two innings, but Central (1-1) answered with four runs in the third to cut the lead to 7-6. Central took the lead 10-9 with a four-run fifth, before the Mules answered with a seven spot on only two hits in the bottom half of the inning.

Patrick Slattery had two hits for Central and three RBI. Zac Hudson also had two hits for Central and stole two bases.

Central (5-2) picked up three wins over visiting Notre Dame, Rosati Kain and Poplar Bluff.

Cassie Kipper won the 200 individual medley and was a member of two winning relay teams. Jackie Erlacker took first in diving. Brett Ford won the 100 breastroke.

Notre Dame had several winners and finished second in the quad meet.

Janelle Essner won two individual events.
