The Cape Central baseball team was knocked into the consolation bracket after consecutive losses to Francis Howell North and Fort Zumwalt South at the 12th Annual Midwest Classic in St. Louis on Friday.

The Tigers fell to Francis Howell North 13-3 in the first game. Garrett Stevens took the loss for Central (1-2). Stevens was the only Tigers player with an extra-base hit.

In the second game, Fort Zumwalt South banged out eight hits in a 6-2 victory over Central. Brooks Osburn led the Tigers with a triple and an RBI. Hive Tanaka added two base hits.

The Tigers will face Northwest Howell Springs at 11 a.m. and Fox at 1 p.m. in the consolation bracket today.
