WASHINGTON -- The St. Louis Cardinals have placed infielder Brendan Ryan on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
The Cardinals also recalled infielder Tyler Greene from Class AAA Memphis before their game against the Washington Nationals on Thursday night. Greene was in the lineup at shortstop for his major league debut.
Ryan hurt himself running out a foul ball in the fifth inning in Atlanta on Sunday.
Greene was hitting .296 with two home runs and nine RBIs for Memphis.
