PADUCAH, Ky. -- Cape Ford & Sons Senior American Legion baseball team avenged Saturday's loss to Mount Vernon, Ill. with a five-inning 16-6 win Sunday.
The 10-run rule shortened victory earned Cape (16-14) second place in the four-team Paducah Tournament.
Adam Bertrand roped two doubles and a single to compile five RBIs. Andy Sweet and Todd Pennington added two hits each as Cape outhit its opponent 12-6. Five runs in the fifth inning closes out the win for Cape.
Craig Ringwald went the distance on the mound, fanning seven, walking only two and allowing only three earned runs.

SIKESTON -- The Cape SEMO Bank Junior American Legion baseball team kept rolling Sunday with doubleheader sweep of Sikeston on the road.
Cape won the first game 11-3 and followed that up with a 14-7 conquest to improve to 18-12 overall and 13-3 in district play.
Tom Wencewicz pitched a seven-inning complete game in the first game, fanning six and allowing nine hits. He also had three of SEMO Bank's 13 hits.
Mark Fisher clubbed four hits and totaled three RBIs. He had a solo home run in the sixth inning. Zac Fiddler added two hits and three RBIs.
Richard Harrison picked up the win in the second game, allowing six runs and five hits in five innings on the mound. Joe Hamilton closed out the victory with two innings of four-hit ball.
John Snider and Chad Jones both ripped three of Cape's 18 hits. Mark Ostendorf, Fiddler and Hamilton all had two hits each. Hamilton collected three RBIs.
SEMO Bank plays the Commerce Bank Senior Babe Ruth White Sox today at Cape Central starting at 4 p.m..

The Cape Commerce Bank White Sox had their hands full Sunday at Cape Central against the Mineral Area Pirates, dropping a doubleheader by scores of 19-3 and 30-11.
The losses dropped Commerce Bank's record to 9-11 overall. The White Sox are 7-5 in district games. Steve Sachse, Mike Sullivan and Dan Turner all had two hits in the second game.
Saturday at East Prairie, Commerce Bank split a twinbill, winning the first game 17-4 and dropping the second 5-4.
Chuck Brown had three hits and four RBIs in the win. Jonathan Caldwell went 2-for-2 with four RBIs. Jamie Essner pitched all five innings in the blowout win.
Despite a three-run double in the seventh inning by C.J. Logan, Cape was unable to rally in the nightcap. Sean Maguire had two hits and Sullivan hurled a complete game.
