Nathan McGuire, Jeff Lappe, Ross Bennett and Jeff Beasley had the four dingers. Beasley went 3-for-5 and McGuire and Lappe added two hits. Ben Gosche was 2-for-2 with two walks as Ford & Sons totaled 12 hits.

Todd Pennington pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Bennett pitched the first six innings allowing all five runs.

Cape (9-4) trailed 5-4 until scoring four in the seventh and three in the ninth to pull away.

CHAFFEE -- Chaffee's Junior American Legion remained unbeatable with two errorless games in a doubleheader sweep of Jackson Sunday.

Chaffee (16-0, 9-0 in district) won the first game 6-1 and the late game 11-0 in five innings. Jackson fell to 6-5 and 2-3 in district.

Jason Glastetter (1-0) pitched the first five innings of the first game for the win, allowing five hits and striking out six. Brian Obermann pitched two scoreless innings of relief.

Tommy Stidham had two of Chaffee's seven hits. Jesse Boyer laced an run-scoring single for Jackson's only score of the day.

In the second contest, Chaffee ripped 13 hits with Dusty Leggett leading the way with three. Jason Vickings had three RBIs.

Jim Hulshof (1-0) pitched four scoreless innings for the win, allowing four hits and striking out five. Justin Glastetter pitched the final inning.
