The Cape Girardeau American Legion junior team is off to a 2-0 start at the Milton F. Nitsch Memorial Tournament in Jackson.

Cape defeated Sikeston 7-5 on Friday and edged Imperial's Rock Legion 3-2 on Saturday.

Cape plays 2 p.m. today against Florissant in the Pool A finale. The championship is set for 7 tonight.

Anthony Wulfers was the winning pitcher Friday, and Brad LaBruyere picked up the save.

Nathan Kolda had three hits to lead Cape. Blake Slattery, David Jackson and Jacob Wengert each had two hits.

Cape (2-0) had only four hits total Saturday but LaBruyere pitched a two-hitter over seven innings in the win against Rock Legion.

Providing the hits for Cape were Kolda, Slattery, Abe Dirnberger and Wulfers.
