The Cape Girardeau Junior League baseball team fell 14-3 to Brentwood in the Jackson Junior Legion tournament championship on Monday. The game ended after five innings due to the mercy rule.
Jacob Wengert and Brad LaBruyere had two hits apiece for Cape (3-1).
In a game on Sunday, Cape defeated Florissant 12-5. Trey Fondren earned the win, and Blake Slattery and LaBruyere each had two hits. The victory gave Cape a 3-0 record in pool play and advanced it to the championship game.
