Cape Jr. Legion drops to 0-2 in DSP Midwest Regional

The Plaza Tire Cape Junior Legion baseball team fell to 0-2 in the DSP Midwest Regional on Friday with a 13-1 loss to the Big Hitter Diamondstars.

Josh Hiett had a triple, which brought home the lone run for Cape (10-5). Christian Cavaness added two hits.

Cape continues pool play today with two games at Central High School.

Jackson Jr. Legion

The Jackson Junior Legion scored 26 runs in a sweep of Perryville on Thursday.

Jackson won the opener 14-5 behind the pitching of Logan Bartels.

Austin Fowler had a home run, a triple and four RBIs for Jackson (18-2).

Jackson won the nightcap 12-1 as Fowler and Brennon Cox each went 2-for-3.

Trey Parker picked up the win on the mound for Jackson.
