Against Kickapoo, Central (8-3-4) found itself down 1-0 at halftime, but a penalty-kick goal by Amber Voerg knotted the contest. With only four minutes left in the game, Trisha Klipfel scored on an assist from Alie McGinty to give the Lady Tigers the lead.

In the second game, Central scored in the first minute of the game when Caitlin Bahn scored on an assist from Klipfel.

Notre Dame 7Farmington 0

Kristen Boos scored three goals as Notre Dame rolled to victory.

The Lady Bulldogs (8-6-1) also got two goals from Sierra Ellis and one each from Sara Berkbigler and Amanda Dirnberger.

Katie Mehner had two assists while Courtney Vickery, Tracy Kluesner and Emily Worley all added one assist.

BOYS TENNIS

Central ties for 2nd

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Cape Central, which is undefeated in dual matches, tied for second place in the six-team Poplar Bluff Tournament.

The host squad captured the title with 16 points, followed by Central and Sikeston with 14 1/2 each. Willow Springs was third with 11 1/2. Dexter had 2 1/2 and Farmington failed to score.

Central's doubles team of Trevor Blattner and Andy Tansil finished second, losing to Poplar Bluff's Kandarp Bhatt and Josh Riggs 8-5 in the finals.

Chaffee Tournament

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Egyptian (Ill.) pitcher Ashley Jones dominated the eight-team field as she did not allow a run in three games to lead her squad to the championship.

Jones hurled a five-inning no-hitter as Egyptian routed Oran 19-0 in the finals. Teresa Hodges suffered the loss.

Oran (9-2) had beaten East Prairie 8-6 in the semifinals. Hodges fanned 12 and allowed just one earned run and four hits. Amber Seyer had a grand slam and five RBIs.

St. Vincent 143Crystal City 203

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- In a meet from Friday, St. Vincent blistered the Perryville Country Club Course with its lowest team score ever.

Andrew and Adam Prost shared medalist honors with one-under-par 34s. Wes Richardet and Mark Gotto carded scores of 37 and 38 respectively.

"Not only am I extremely pleased with the scores," said veteran St. Vincent coach Tom Prost, "but stunned that they played so well in the windy conditions."

St. Vincent, last year's state runner-up in Class 1A, improved to 8-1 overall and remained unbeaten in the Jefferson County Conference at 5-0.
