FENTON, Mo. -- Jon Mark Thompson continued his scoring onslaught as the Cape Girardeau Central High boys soccer team defeated Fulton 3-1 Saturday night at the Anheuser-Busch Conference & Sports Centre.

Thompson had two goals, giving him 13 on the season, as the Tigers improved their record to 8-3-1. Thompson is now halfway to the school single-season scoring record of 26 goals, held by Craig Scheer.

"Jon Mark is having quite a season so far," said Cape Central coach Tom Doyle.

Heath Orr scored the Tigers' other goal. Thompson, Cody Hill and James Russell all had assists.

Cape Central's junior varsity squad rolled to an 8-0 victory over Rolla. Trey Wills scored two goals while Luke Kester, Matt Hellrich, Lee Hodges, Devin Edmonds, Drew Crist and Mark Presser all tallied once.

Hodges added two assists and goalkeeper Luke Proffer recorded the shutout.
