The Missouri Football Coaches Association released its 2015 All-State Football teams this weekend, with a local contingent peppering the rosters.
Cape Central dominated the area scene with six players honored with a spot on one of the three Class 4 rosters, while Jackson had one player in the Class 5 mix.
The Tigers were the only ones with first-team selections, as senior wide receiver Al Young, senior defensive lineman Lamarcus Johnson and junior defensive back Kway'Chon Chisom all placed on the top roster. Young was also named a second-team kick returner.
The Class 4 second team featured Central running back Aaron Harris -- one of just four underclassmen to make the classification's all-state cut -- and senior offensive lineman Casey Vaughn.
Senior linebacker Corey Starks represented the Tigers on the third team.
In Class 5, Indians wide receiver Jeremy Elliott, a senior, was placed on the second team.
Other players of regional interest include four picks from Class 2 state runner-up Malden, including Nick Thompson, who has committed to Southeast Missouri State. He was honored as a first-team linebacker and a second-team running back. Green Wave teammates Zach Gray (defensive end) and Kylus Thompson (defensive back) were also placed on the first team.
The Class 2 third team featured Gray at tight end and Chapen Riley at quarterback and punter.
East Prairie's Deverence Jones was a third-team member.
