The Plaza Tire Capahas bounced back from a heart-breaking loss Thursday to pound Columbia, Tenn., and earn a split of two games at the American Baseball Congress tournament in Evansville, Ind.

The Capahas completed tournament play with a 2-2 record.

On Thursday, Plaza Tire opened with an 8-4 loss to Calvert City, Ala., and then defeated Columbia 11-0.

Calvert City scored four runs in the top of the seventh to break a 4-4 tie. They took advantage of three walks and a three-run home run.

Jon Nourie was the losing pitcher, allowing 10 hits over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out seven and walked five. Josh Parham finished out the seven inning contest, walking one and surrendering the homer.

Robby Moore and Tom Bolen each were 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Against Columbia, Tenn., Jamie McAlister pitched a two-hitter over five innings. He struck out five and walked one.

Levi Olson was 2-for-2, including a grand slam. Eric Horstman was 2-for-4 with a double and three-run home run that invoked the 10-run mercy rule in the fifth inning.

Each drove in five runs.
