The Plaza Tire Capahas continued to roll Saturday, getting plenty of offense and strong pitching during a doubleheader sweep at Valmeyer, Ill.
Plaza Tire won the opener 6-5 and the nightcap 6-0 to improve to 28-3 on the season.
Billy Roll pitched all seven innings of the opener, allowing six hits. He struck out three and walked five.
Kenton Parmley led the Capahas' 12-hit attack by going 4 for 4 with two home runs, a double and three RBIs.
"Everything he hit was a bullet," Capahas manager Jess Bolen said.
Adam Connor had two doubles while Brandon Bennett added two hits.
Skylar Cobb was the story of the nightcap as he struck out eight of the first nine batters he faced on his way to a dominant five-inning performance.
Cobb allowed one hit and one walk while striking out 11.
"He threw tremendous," Bolen said.
Lance Young allowed one hit in the sixth inning and Caleb Guilliams worked a perfect seventh inning.
The Capahas had 10 hits, led by Parmley, Connor, Christian Cavaness and Mark Hagedown with two each. Connor belted a three-run homer.
"We swung wood and they swung aluminum but we hit the ball very well," Bolen said.
The Capahas also learned their opening opponent during their 32nd straight appearance at the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kan.
Plaza Tire will face the Kansas Alumni team at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Prior to that, the Capahas end the regular season Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. home contest against Fairview Heights, Ill.
