The Plaza Tire Capahas barely worked up a sweat in winning the championship of the annual Union Printers tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Capahas completed their dominant run through the four-team field with Wednesday's 11-1 rout of a squad from Boston, Mass.

Manager Jess Bolen's club went 4-0 in the tournament, outscoring the opposition 51-4. The Capahas' closest game was a 10-1 decision over the St. Louis Printers. The event also included a team from Chicago.

"We played some really good baseball out here," said Bolen, whose squad improved its overall record to 25-10. "I liked that we scored double-digit runs in every game."

The Capahas banged out 17 hits Wednesday and played their third straight game without an error after having only one error in their tournament opener.

"Our defense was very good out here and so was our pitching," Bolen said.

Cody Hafeli was Wednesday's winning pitcher, allowing five hits and one run in seven innings. He struck out four and walked one.

Justin Simpher worked the final two innings, giving up two hits.

Kody Campbell led the offense Wednesday by going 4 for 5. He finished with a tournament-high nine hits in 16 at-bats.

Campbell received two of the tournament's three individual awards -- most hits and final-game MVP. There was no overall tournament MVP.

Blake Gaddis went 3 for 5 and drove in three runs. Josh Eftink also went 3 for 5 with two RBIs.

Daryl Graham and Clint Cashen both added two hits. Graham stole three bases.

The Capahas broke on top with five runs in the bottom of the first inning, all the damage coming with two outs. Gaddis had the key hit, a two-RBI single.

A two-run second inning made it 7-0 and the Capahas cruised the rest of the way.

After returning from Florida today, the Capahas will begin preparing for the annual National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kan.

The Capahas' 29th consecutive NBC World Series appearance will begin Tuesday with a game against the Seattle (Wash.) Studs, a perennial tournament power.
