The Plaza Tire Capahas posted an 8-1 win over first-year program Perryville Thursday night but Capahas manager Jess Bolen was impressed with the home team.

The Capahas (11-5) led just 4-1 before breaking things open with four runs over the final three innings.

"They didn't have a bad ballclub," Bolen said. "They're just starting out, but they hustled and played pretty good baseball.

"We busted it open late, but it was a good ballgame."

Cody Hafeli pitched seven innings for the victory. He allowed six hits and one run while striking out six and walking two.

Garrett Stevens paced the Capahas' 11-hit attack by going 3 for 4 with two doubles.

Daryl Graham and Sean Bard each had two hits and three RBIs.

The Capahas jumped on top with two second-inning runs. It was 4-0 before Perryville scored its lone run in the sixth inning.

The Capahas return to action Saturday with a doubleheader at Springfield, Ill. They host the St. Louis Printers on Sunday in a 1 p.m. twin bill.
