Steven Dooley struck out 13 batters while hurling a complete game as the Plaza Tire Capahas won their first game of the Valmeyer (Ill.) 4th of July Baseball Tournament, defeating Belleville (Ill.) 5-3.

Christian Cavaness was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, including a solo home run leading off the bottom of the fourth inning for the Capahas. Kenton Parmalee was 2 for 3 and scored twice, shile Cody Campbell, Adam Blum and Jesse Schott each had two hits. Blum's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Capahas the lead for good.

Dooley (4-0) allowed three runs -- all earned -- on just six hits while walking five over nine innings.

Alex Siddle, who played for Southeast Missouri State University this past season, had a leadoff home run in the top of the fourth for Belleville.

The Capahas (21-1) advanced to the winners bracket, where they will face the St. Louis Printers on Saturday at 2 p.m.
