The Plaza Tire Capahas had to work overtime for their 26th win of the season Tuesday night.

Host Fairview Heights, Ill., rallied with three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to forge a 7-7 tie.

But the Capahas scored three times in the top of the 10th inning for a 10-7 victory as they improved to 26-3.

"It was a pretty wild game," Capahas manager Jess Bolen said. "Fairview Heights usually has a pretty good ballclub."

The back-and-forth affair saw the Capahas fall behind 3-0 and 4-2 before they rallied for a 7-4 lead.

After Fairview Heights tied things in the ninth -- the Redbirds also left the bases loaded in that frame -- the Capahas regained the lead for good with their three-run 10th.

Kenton Parmley was hit by a pitch leading off and stole second. He scored the eventual winning run on Brandon Bennett's RBI double.

With two outs, Logan Bartels provided insurance by delivering a two-RBI double.

Adam Blum, making his first pitching appearance of the season, worked a scoreless bottom of the 10th to notch the victory. He walked two.

Jason Flores started and allowed three earned runs in five innings.

Caleb Guilliams pitched into the ninth. Andrew Williams recorded the final two outs of the ninth before Blum hurled the 10th.

Jesse Schott homered for the Capahas, his leadoff shot in the seventh inning putting Plaza Tire up 7-4.

The Capahas return to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Valmeyer, Ill.

Plaza Tire's scheduled home game Friday against Waterloo, Ill., has been cancelled. The same goes for the Capahas' scheduled home contest July 24 against the St. Louis Printers.

The Capahas have added a home game July 23 against Fairview Heights.
